JOB SUMMARY


The Senior Accountant role will be responsible for general cost accounting and other related duties to support the Finance and Accounting function within the larger organization. The Senior Account will prepare accurate and timely documents, understand accounting and internal control best practices and procedures, and have strong analytical skills. The role is based in Minneapolis. 


 


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


•Executes revenue and expense account reconciliation. 


•Performs General Ledger accounting, journal entries, and General Ledger reconciliation.


•Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.


•Verifies and completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.


•Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks, customers and international staff members.


•Provides Controller and outside auditors and tax professionals with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform an annual audit and tax returns.


•Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.


•Maintains knowledge of accounting and internal control practices and procedures.


•Executes Ad Hoc reporting as requested.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of experience in Accountant or Senior Accountant position (General Ledger, accounts payable and receivable)
  • Experienced Excel user
  • Previous experience with NetSuite is preferred
  • Experience with payment processing platforms a plus (Stripe)
  • ASE 606 knowledge a plus


 


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
